A letter-post item is an item described in and conveyed under the conditions of the UPU Convention and Regulations.[1] Typically, it includes letter, postcard, printed matter/papers, M bag, literature for the blind and small packet.
Classified in accordance with UPU Code List 117, letter-post items fall into two categories: LC and AO. These two categories are widely adopted in UPU conventions and technical standards,[1] and also serve as an essential part of the coding rules for international postal despatches.
